  • Carpentry

I did the Multi-Trades programme before at the College and found that Carpentry was the most appealing trade. I enjoyed it more as it’s more creative and it was just something I was drawn to.

  • Carpentry

I chose Multi-Trades as I didn’t really know what trade I wanted to do at the time, so I thought I’d get a taste of everything. During this programme, I realised that Carpentry was my favourite of all of them.

  • Sport

I chose to come to College as I already knew what I was interested in and wanted to make my learning specific to that. I chose MidKent College because it is close to my house and easy to get to and from. I did attend the open event which gave me more information on the programme I was interested in and helped me to decide that it was definitely what I wanted to do.

  • Sport

I chose to study Sport because my life has been filled with it from doing track and football which made me want to learn more about the industry and the other aspects of it. So far, I have covered psychology and anatomy. I had to study those units for an exam that I took at the beginning of the year.

At MidKent College, I started with GCSE maths one day a week. I had been a full-time mum for many years, so it was hard for the family, with mum being less available and the dining table being littered with books. It was a big change in the house. What I have learned from my experience is that you can do anything you put your mind to. Step outside your comfort zone. I didn’t have any confidence. That’s changed dramatically. I could never imagine seven years ago I would be where I am now. I’m working as a social worker in a fostering agency, and I really enjoy my job, which has a great salary.
