When I was thinking about coming to College I originally looked online for courses and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to study plumbing or electrical, so I came to an open day, and ended up choosing plumbing. To get accepted onto the Level 2 course I needed grade 4 or above in maths and English GCSE which I had.

I chose College as I wanted to try something new. I realised I didn't really enjoy the structure of school and the lessons. When coming to College I have found that I can be much more independent, this is something that I didn't get when in school, which I felt would continue onto sixth form.

I chose MidKent College over sixth form as I thought it was a better opportunity than staying at a school I have been at for years, and there were more options when it came to health courses.

Since starting College I’ve learnt a mixture of things such as husbandry, animal behaviour and how to take care of exotic animals. So, it’s more like the basic needs of animals and their health so for example if you want to become a vet it can help you become a vet.

I chose MidKent College because I wanted to get straight into a trade within the motor industry and was keen to get into the practical work. I didn’t want to sit in a classroom and do lots of exams at the end.

My first impression when I came to College was that everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
