ZERO

We're committed to being a mindful and considerate organisation that assesses and manages the impact of our work on the local and global environment.

Climate change and ecological impact are some of the biggest challenges of our time, and the UK Government's target to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 is ambitious. We're ambitious too. That's why we've put plans in place under our 'MidKent College ZERO' banner to make our campuses in Maidstone and Medway net-zero by 2030.

We're working at pace, and in line with the Association of Colleges Climate Action Roadmap with a broad focus covering:

  • Leadership and Governance
  • Teaching, Learning and Research
  • Estates and Operations
  • Partnerships and Engagement
  • Data Collection.

We recognise the significant role we play in shaping the values and behaviours of fuure generations. By demonstrating our own commitment to environmental sustainability, we believe we can instill a sense of responsibility and awareness among our students and staff to help create a culture of environmental awareness that extends beyond our campuses and into the broader community.
