A-Levels

Choose three subjects to build a programme that suits your interests, strengths and future ambitions. At our Sixth Form Centre in Maidstone, you can now combine traditional A Levels with new V Levels, giving you greater flexibility to shape your education and prepare for your next step.

A Levels are well-established, nationally recognised academic qualifications, valued by universities and employers. Studied over two years, they allow you to develop subject knowledge, critical thinking and independent study skills, with progression routes into university, apprenticeships and employment.

V Levels are exciting new vocational qualifications being introduced in September 2027. Each V Level is equivalent in size to one A Level and offers applied learning linked to employment sectors. They provide an opportunity to explore vocational subjects while developing knowledge and skills relevant to the workplace.

Whether you want to focus on academic subjects, explore a vocational area or combine both, our flexible A Level and V Level offer gives you the opportunity to create a programme that reflects your goals.

      • A Level students will study three subjects over two years full-time at our Maidstone Campus in the dedicated Sixth Form Centre.

        Our supportive lecturers are dedicated to helping you achieve the grades you need in order to progress onto university or employment.

        We recognise that young people already have access to a range of A Level subjects at school sixth forms, so our subject offer is based upon ensuring we provide a broad range of subjects to support a wide variety of pathways for students who have clear destination aims in mind and those who are still deciding on their future goals and want to keep their options open. In either case, the College will discuss your individual subject choices with you, both at the interview and when you start, to ensure that you have chosen appropriate subjects to be successful and to support your individual aims.

        The breadth of subjects offered is always based on student demand. Students applying for A Levels and V Levels should specify which three subjects they would like to study, and we'll discuss these with you at interview.

        A Levels and V Levels carry UCAS points that provide a recognised route into higher education, as well as routes into a wide range of career opportunities and apprenticeships. A higher education course could be your first step to a full degree course at university, offering you increased earning power and career prospects.
