Starting further education is an exciting step for young people, bringing new opportunities, greater independence and the chance to develop the skills and confidence needed for their future. This section has been designed to provide parents and carers with helpful information about life at college and what to expect during your young person's journey with us. While it does not cover every aspect of college life, it aims to answer some of the most common questions and offer useful guidance on the support, opportunities and expectations that underpin the student experience. We encourage you to read this guide alongside the College's Parental Charter, which outlines our commitment to working in partnership with parents and carers to support students to achieve their full potential.

In this section you will find key documentation, dates and contact details which we hope will be useful over the coming year. We know that a strong partnership with parents makes a difference in the education of our students as we strive for the best possible outcomes for all. 

Your support is important to ensure that your young person: 

• Attends College and arrives on time, ready for the day's learning 

• Completes all homework and assignments 

• Knows that you expect them to succeed and progress to either employment, an apprenticeship, or university 

• Completes their work experience hours aligned to their subject 

• Appreciates the importance of English, maths and group tutorial throughout their time at College and beyond.
