We were delighted to welcome back alumni Gary Smith, who recently visited MidKent College to share his incredible journey with our sport students.  Gary studied a one-year Level 2 NVQ in Sport and Recreation at the City Way campus in 1997. He still goes on holiday with a few of his College friends!

To support with Work Experience Week and National Apprenticeship Week, Candice Penfold (Candy!), a member of our MidKent College Alumni Network recently returned to share her journey into nursing.Now a Staff Nurse at HMP East Sutton Park with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, Candy started out studying A Levels at MidKent College, followed by working in care.

Meet Amy Furrents, who studied Animal Management at MidKent College. She now works as a Senior Keeper at Fenn Bell Conservation Project - hear her amazing journey from work experience to then securing a job. Amy also helps teach our T Level students, records bee data and not only manages anaimals, but people too - amazing work Amy! Find out about our alumni network.     

A MidKent College lecturer has won the ‘Staff Volunteer of the Year’ award at the national Good For Me Good for FE ceremony held in the Palace of Westminster, London. The annual awards, now in their third year, recognise the exceptional contributions to volunteering and fundraising of eight people or organisations working in Further Education.

I am currently in my second year of studying a T-Level in Digital Support Services. I’ve always been interested in technology and enjoy using it. I also like to find fixes and workarounds to technical problems, as I enjoy facing new challenges.

Holly Mailey, who is a Building Services Engineering Technician apprentice, works for John Francis Construction, Priory Hill, Dartford.
