Freddie Smith, who is a Level 2 Painting and Decorating apprentice, works for Baxall Construction Ltd, Paddock Wood, Kent.

Congratulating him, Neil Long, Baxall Construction site supervisor: “Freddie is lovely to work with and be around. He takes in all instructions and performs well. He is keen to learn and is always striving to be better. I've really enjoyed teaching him over the last year and if he carries on improving like he is, he will be a very good decorator.”

Christina Wilson, training supervisor at MidKent College, said: “Freddie has really proved his worth to his employer. He worked hard during his work experience with the company and was given the opportunity of an apprenticeship which I am delighted to say, having completed the first year, has proved to be successful. I have high expectations of Freddie, in agreement with his supervisor. He has listened to targets set at reviews and has generally met these without reminding. I would expect Freddie to complete his apprenticeship in 24 months including EPA (end point assessment), if he continues to work with commitment.”

Freddie said: “I’m proud to be given the apprentice of the month as I have put in the hard work on site and confidently worked alongside the decorators and other trades.”

Congratulations Freddie
