We're expanding our Sixth Form offer with two new V Level qualifications available from September 2027, giving students more choice in how they prepare for university, employment and their future careers.

Students can choose to study V Levels in Accounting and Finance and Digital Systems and Data at our Maidstone Sixth Form Centre. The new qualifications will sit alongside our established A Level offer, allowing students to combine academic and vocational study in a programme tailored to their interests and ambitions.

V Levels are brand-new qualifications being introduced nationally in September 2027. Equivalent in size to one A Level, they are designed to give students the opportunity to explore vocational subjects through applied learning while developing knowledge and skills relevant to further study and the workplace.

The Accounting and Finance V Level will introduce students to financial information, business performance and financial decision-making, including the role of ethics, regulation and digital finance. It offers a practical way to explore how organisations use financial information to make decisions.

The Digital Systems and Data V Level will explore how technology, infrastructure and data are used to solve real-world problems. Students will develop an understanding of areas including digital systems, data analysis, cyber security, responsible data use, and AI and automation.

Students will be able to choose three subjects in total, combining A Levels and V Levels to create a study programme that reflects their strengths and future plans.

A Levels remain a well-established and widely recognised route into higher education and employment. The addition of V Levels gives students another way to develop specialist knowledge and applied skills while keeping a range of progression options open.

The new qualifications are designed to support progression to higher education, apprenticeships and employment, helping students make informed choices about their next steps.
