I left school during Covid and didn’t receive much information about next steps, so I chose to start an apprenticeship. I found the opportunity through the government website.

One thing that surprised me about the apprenticeship was how quickly I received my end-point assessment results. I was told it would take three weeks; however, I received them within a week of completing the assessment.

MidKent College supported me throughout my apprenticeship by giving me one study day a week, where I could solely focus on my apprenticeship and no other work. This gave me the opportunity to complete my coursework in my own time.

Completing my apprenticeship has helped me realise that I am capable of doing my job within the college. It has also given me the confidence to manage my workload independently, without worrying about coursework deadlines.

My advice to anyone thinking about starting an apprenticeship would be to weigh up all of your options carefully and make sure you choose the apprenticeship that’s right for you.
