I study Level 2 Hair & Make-up and came to College as I didn’t think sixth form was best fitting for me.

I really enjoy practical work. I knew about the College because people above me at school went here.

I came along to an open day which was really lovely. That's what made me want to choose this course. I applied at the open day which was really easy, there’s a laptop there for you to use and staff to support you.

We’ve learnt a lot of things so far this term. How to use blow driers and we've done so many different makeup looks. In this class you get to be very, very creative, and that's what I like about it.

My timetable means I am in College for three days a week. I’m resitting English and Maths alongside my course. My tutors Sam and Tom are lovely and both are very easy to talk to if there's ever a problem.

I find College so much different from school, you have much more freedom. It's a whole different setting from school, you’re actually treated like your age. Tutors are here to guide us and help us, but you do need to take responsibility for doing your work. I know that there are support teams here but I haven’t needed them so far.

I’m not 100% sure what I want to do next year, I might want to do the Level 3, but I would like to go into full-time employment and I am thinking about working on the cruise ships.
