I thought about choosing other programmes, but Painting & Decorating just stood out for me. It’s something I’ve enjoyed, and want to do in the future.

So far we’ve learnt how to cut in properly and about the colour wheel – you definitely need a steady hand. I’m a fast learner, and I pick up things really quickly.

Sixth form and university just wasn’t for me. I’d like to start up my own small business from this, and go onto the construction site.

Our tutor Andy is really good, you can tell he takes an interest in his students. He almost seems a friend rather than a tutor!
