We are committed to helping every student make informed decisions about their future and achieve their career ambitions. Our dedicated Careers Team provides impartial careers advice throughout a student's time at college. Students have access to one-to-one careers appointments, support with university and apprenticeship applications, CV writing, interview preparation, employability workshops and information on labour market trends.

Careers education is embedded within study programmes and includes opportunities to engage with employers, universities and industry professionals through guest speakers, careers fairs, workplace visits and work experience or industry placements. Parents and carers can be assured that students are encouraged to explore a wide range of progression opportunities, enabling them to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to progress successfully into employment, apprenticeships, higher education or further training.

Progression at MidKent College

We hope that your young person will choose to continue their educational journey with MidKent College, either by progressing to the next level within their chosen subject area or by exploring an alternative career pathway. Progression opportunities are considered on an individual basis and are subject to students successfully completing their current programme, maintaining a minimum attendance rate of 88%, and demonstrating consistently positive behaviour and engagement throughout the academic year. Students wishing to progress to a further course at the College must submit an application through the MidKent College website and may be invited to attend a progression interview to discuss their future plans and suitability for their chosen programme.
