Course Description

Become a qualified practitioner by completing our Level 3 Diploma in Children's Workforce (Early Years Educator)

There are 17 mandatory units which will be assessed through internal assessments, portfolio building and placement assessments (observed in the placement).

  • Unit 5 Support the health, wellbeing and physical care needs of children in early years settings
  • Unit 6 Equality, diversity, and inclusion in early years settings
  • Unit 7 Support positive behaviour in children
  • Unit 8 Support children with additional support needs
  • Unit 9 Support attachment when working with children in early years
  • Unit 10 Support children through transitions
  • Unit 11 Plan, lead and evaluate purposeful play activities to support children’s learning and development
  • Unit 12 Support the development of reading, literacy, and mathematical skills in early years settings
  • Unit 13 Extending children’s learning and thinking in early years settings
  • Unit 14 Assessment and observation in early years settings
  • Unit 15 Recording, storing, reporting and sharing information in early years settings
  • Unit 16 Working in partnership with colleagues, professionals, and key individuals in early years settings
  • Unit 17 Continuing professional development in early years education

    This programme is for those who wish to work with children from birth to age five in a variety of settings.

    There is a minimum 350 hours placement in a relevant industry workplace and support will be given in finding appropriate placements in Ofsted graded Good or above settings. This will enable you to learn new skills from highly qualified practitioners.

  • Fully enhanced DBS is required
  • A uniform is required and there are bursaries available for eligible students
  • There is a minimum 350 hours placement
  • Your study programme includes PPT sessions which must be attended
