Music Performance students have found themselves heading for the final of the World Skills UK Popular Music Competition after their success at South Thames College Wandsworth.

Two bands from College, Inner Lines and Troubled Heritage, had to film their twists on a current top ten number, and then for the 2nd round cover two songs, or their own and perform them in front of an audience and the judges.

Kennie Cotter, Music and Music Technology Lecturer, said “both bands worked to an extremely high standard of professionalism and music ability throughout the preparation and the competition itself. They worked extremely well independently, and also absorbed the advice and suggestions I gave them. The end result was absolutely incredible, and I could not be more proud of them.”

Congratulations to Inner Lines and Troubled Heritage and we look forward to seeing how they get on!
