Public Services students join the Kent Police Stop Check Policy Forum

A few months back, four of our Public Services students attended and participated in the Medway Community Safety Partnership Conference. As a result of the successful participation, two of our Public Services students; Oliver and Grace, are now part of the Kent Police Stop Check Policy Forum. Their involvement is as part of the scrutiny panel and they have already attended their first meeting. The students met with ranking officers at Kent Police Force Headquarters where they viewed body-worn video camera footage of checks carried out by officers.

Kent Police would also like to involve MidKent College students in the forming of a youth panel of The Independent Police Advisory Group which will review all of Kent Police’s working policies. This will give our students the opportunity to scrutinise policy and actions and meet with other young people within Medway. The panel will be the first in the country and it provides a real opportunity for our students and of course, MidKent College itself. We will keep you updated as the project goes forward.
