MP Tracey Crouch, MP for Chatham and Aylesford, has visited MidKent College to speak to students about the issues that matter to them.

She began by introducing her role to the HND and Level 3 Public Service course students and then took the stand for questions from the floor. A huge variety of topics were uncovered, from maternity leave to plastic bag charges!

Tracey also spoke with students about current stories in the news, including breast feeding in the House of Commons and Russian doping in the sport world. Meeting members of Parliament from the surrounding areas is a great opportunity for inquisitive students to voice their opinions and speak to those at the forefront of decision making.

Christine Spree, Sport and Public Services lecturer at College, said the 'students really enjoyed Tracey's visit. It is useful for them to understand the role of an MP and be able to ask about some of the issues that interest them. We had an interesting Q&A with Tracey, who was very open and honest with students.'
