Maidstone and the Weald MP, Helen Grant, visited MidKent College last week, shown around the Maidstone Campus by the principal, Simon Cook, and Andrea Ashman, director of human resources.
Prior to the elections, she had not had an opportunity to visit, so it was an ideal time for her to meet colleagues and students, and see the resources we have!
She saw the work MidKent College do in providing apprenticeships for local businesses and young people, and visited Travel and Tourism students, as well as the Childcare, Construction and Engineering departments.
Finally, she spoke to the careers team, hearing about the great work they do with making sure students are taking paths right for them. She tweeted after her visit about how enthusiastic students were, and how dedicated tutors were!
