An organisation that provides support to local charities has been rebranded with help from a MidKent College student.

KentCAN is a community interest company (CIC) based at Maidstone Enterprise Centre – run by the Enterprise Foundation – which is also home to the College’s creative agency MAD Creative.
A new logo was top of the organisation’s rebranding wish list, with Creative Media Production student Abel Capistrano, 20, from Maidstone, asked to put her talents to good use.
“We gave Abel free reign to see what she could come up with and were delighted with the results,” said KentCAN’s engagement manager Paula Saunders.
“The designs were really good and there were lots of different colours and concepts for us to consider.
“We will always aim to give enterprises such as MAD Creative an opportunity because of the type of organisation we are, and there’s no reason why other companies shouldn’t do the same.”
MAD Creative is a company set up to help nurture the skills possessed by students at MidKent College by providing them with real life projects to work on.
Local businesses that team up with the agency have hundreds of creative hours poured into their projects and get to choose from a wide range of concepts, which are then refined by MAD’s team of professionals into final, polished products.
Abel said: “It was a great privilege to be given the opportunity to design a new logo for KentCAN, and I’d rate the experience 10 out of 10.
“It really helped prepare me for university. I used to be shy but working on this project has boosted my confidence a lot.”
MidKent College offers a number of courses in Creative Media at both its Medway and Maidstone campuses.
