Jess was diagnosed, at 15, with dilated cardiomyopathy, a heart condition that meant she needed a heart transplant as soon as possible. Her heart transplant meant that she was able to live a year longer than expected. She passed away due to complications in the early hours of 18 January 2017 at the young age of just 18.
During the last year her family and friends watched her live her life to the fullest. Jess joined College, had parties just because she could and sang her heart out constantly! Despite her struggles, Jess never stopped smiling and never stopped touching everyone’s heart. She had a big impact on this world and will always be remembered by her friends and family as a truly aspirational young woman!
Led by close friend Scarlett Snedden-Clark, Jess' friends manned a fundraising stall selling cakes in the Medway Campus Pavilion recently to help raise funds for Jess' funeral. They raised a hugely impressive £500!
