Forensic science taster day
Last month, a group of Level 3 Applied Science students attended a Forensic Science taster day at Greenwich University and had the opportunity to discover more about the world of forensic science. The day began with our students enjoying talks about university life and what it’s like to study forensic science and the possible career opportunities it can provide.
The day enabled our students to mix with young people from other schools and colleges and experience what is it like to be a university student for the day. The visit included a tour of the campus, including the all-important students' union and social areas. In the forensic science workshops, they participated in lab-based practical sessions and had the opportunity to learn and practice some forensic techniques and experience, in various scenarios, life as a forensic crime scene investigator.
Two of our students that attended commented: “The day was very interesting as the simulations were like real life crime scenes, which made the investigations exciting.” – Agha. “There was a lot to learn from the student ambassadors and they explained very well. I enjoyed the simulation the most; I felt like a real forensic investigator.” - Hannah
