MidKent College and North Kent College have developed an innovative new partnership, Skills Hub Kent and Medway, which launched in May at the Kent Vision business expo in Detling.

Colleagues from both Colleges are combining their experience in designing and delivering training and education to provide a new, improved service to local employers.

The new alliance will offer businesses an increased range of staff development options through a suite of short skills-based courses, bespoke training and a full-service package to recruit and train apprentices. These courses will be held at state-of-the-art campuses in Dartford, Gravesend, Medway and Maidstone.

Chris Hare, MidKent College Director of Enterprise and Employer Engagement, said: "We want to help businesses grow. Through listening to our partners in organisations from a range of sectors, and working closely with Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, it's clear that one of the ways we can support that growth is to develop the local workforce.

This new and exciting partnership between MidKent College and North Kent College builds upon the excellent work of both colleges to ensure that employees have the skills, knowledge, and qualifications to add real value to their employers. By working together through Skills Hub Kent and Medway we'll enhance the range of support available across an expanded number of venues, and deliver the responsive, agile and flexible service that Kent and Medway's businesses deserve."

Ann Komzolik, North Kent College Director of Business Development and Commercial Services said “As a partnership we recognise that we have one common goal - to meet the needs of business by ensuring that we have the right portfolio of skills training to meet their needs. By drawing our expertise together we want to create and offer more choice to individuals and employers capitalising on our excellent resources across the area.”
