MidKent College students Henry Brown and Michael Adams were amongst the top winners at this year’s Guild of Bricklayers London Regional Craft Competition.
Held on Thursday 4 June, the competition sees thirteen students from across London and the South East showcasing their bricklaying skills at both junior and senior levels.
Henry Brown finished a well-deserved first in the senior competition and qualified for the National Guild of Bricklayer’s final, held at Leeds College of Building on 17 June. Henry successfully built a decorated half brick wall and radius brickwork, whilst the junior competitors built a solid decorated wall for their places. Michael Adams, another student at MidKent College, finished in a great second place in this junior event.
Terry Howard, Lecturer of Construction & Engineering said, “The competition was exciting all the way through to the end, it was a great day for all of the participating students, and we had a fantastic result!
