MidKent College Creative and Visual Arts students have helped to create and run a free drop in workshop, at the Turner Contemporary Art Museum in Margate.

Circles was the theme of this year’s workshop, and the students put together a range of activities for families to come and interact with, in the studio that’s based at the museum. Whatever they made could then be put forward for the Portfolio competition, and if they’re successful they could see their art displayed.

Students helped with dot drawing, relief printing, pizza mask making, zentangle drawings, chalk drawing and wax paintings. They loved working with the families, inspiring other people with everything that they’d learnt at College, passing their knowledge on.

The portfolio prize giving ceremony takes place at Canterbury Christ Church University on 20 April, and we’re looking forward to seeing what is chosen as the winning piece!
