If you are in Year 11 or Year 12, the new year is the perfect time to start thinking seriously about what comes next. Could a MidKent College course be an option for you in 2026?
Whether you’ve already applied or are just starting to think about it, this blog is full of tips to help you get ready for the next chapter!
1. Have you applied yet?
If you’ve already chosen a course and submitted your application to MidKent College, that's awesome! Once you’ve applied, the College will contact you with a date for an interview with your course tutor. Keep your eye on your emails for your date.
If you haven’t applied yet, don’t worry, you still can! Our courses start in September, and while you can apply at any time, some popular programmes fill up early, so the best advice is to apply early.
You can apply online via our website or via Kent Choices with your log in details. If you’re unsure about anything, our team can help via phone, email or Live Chat. The Course Information Team are available Monday-Wednesday 9.00am until 4pm and Thursday and Friday 9.30am until 2.30pm.
2. Not sure what course is right for you?
That’s totally normal, lots of people aren’t sure yet! College offers everything from A Levels to vocational courses, T Levels, and apprenticeships. The best way to make the right choice? Do a bit of research online, and talk to careers staff at school or at the College. They can help you match your interests to the right programme.
3. Don’t miss the March 2026 open days!
Want to really feel what College is like before you start? Join us at an open day. If you’ve been to an open day before, you’re very welcome to make a return visit. Our March events tend to be quieter so if you want more time to look around and talk to our staff, students and support teams, this is an ideal time to do it.

Quick New Year checklist:
✔️ Have you booked to visit the College in March?
✔️ Have you asked questions about entry requirements, support or careers?
