College can be a great experience, but it’s not always easy. Between coursework, exams, friendships, and thinking about the future, things can sometimes feel overwhelming.
On top of that, personal problems at home or struggles with confidence can make life even harder.
If you’re finding things difficult, talking to someone can really help. That’s where our counselling service comes in.
What is counselling?
Counselling gives you a private space to talk about what’s on your mind with someone who listens and understands. Unlike a teacher, friend, or family member, a counsellor won’t tell you what to do or give advice. Instead, they’ll help you explore your thoughts and feelings so you can find ways to manage things better.
Why do people go to counselling?
Lots of students struggle at some point, and counselling can help with all kinds of problems, including:
Stress or anxiety – especially around exams or coursework
Feeling low or lacking confidence
Friendship or relationship problems
Family issues
Coping with loss or bereavement
Big life changes (like moving house or dealing with illness)
Identity and self-esteem worries
Bascially, if something is making life harder for you, it’s okay to ask for support!
