You may have seen media reports of a meningococcal disease outbreak in Kent.  No one from our College has become unwell as part of the outbreak.

I am learning about specialist study so choosing a subject which we are focusing on and learning the skills needed. We’re also learning about what we would like to do after College. I would like to go onto university to hopefully study Media. I would like to get into television production as this is my most favourite thing.

I chose this programme as I have always liked films and I did a year of this in GCSE

I enjoy the collaborative time as we can work together bouncing ideas of each other. There is also a lot of hands-on work and it’s nice to be able to share the experience with others.

My tutors have prepared me for a career in the industry by doing a lot of work experience. Learning independently, we have had trips to studios and we’ve learnt all about the industry and how we can get into this.

I have completed my work experience in the College by filming the pantomimes and currently we are doing a project with the NHS for children who have SEN.

I would recommend this programme definitely as I enjoyed it a lot when I came in and started.

I chose MidKent College because it’s a local College near to where I live and I had a few friends who have gone here before. The format made sense as sixth form wasn’t for me. This is more coursework based and sixth form is more exam based.

I have sent off my UCAS application so I’m just waiting and in a couple of weeks we are looking at apprenticeships too. I have looked at the University of Portsmouth and the University of Winchester but on the safe side Canterbury Christ Church University too.
