You may have seen media reports of a meningococcal disease outbreak in Kent.  No one from our College has become unwell as part of the outbreak.

I chose MidKent College as I didn’t enjoy school and I wanted to start construction as it was something new. I came to one of the open events which was really helpful. I met the tutors and they were able to explain about the programme. I want to go into civil engineering and I am starting the Level 4 in Civil and Construction Engineering with Considine Limited as an apprentice.

I study things like building regulations, how buildings are designed and health and safety. I’ve also used CAD on the computers.

I have been on a trip to a construction exhibit in Greenwich as well as a competition for Citizens Civil Engineering which was to design the best bridge. We won so that was really good.

College is a lot more laid back as you have a lot more variety with what you want to go in to. There are more careers to focus on as you have only one subject to work on.
