Course Description

In January 2021, CIPD launched a new Profession Map with brand new qualifications to equip Human Resources practitioners with the knowledge, behaviours and values underpinning the profession. We're an accredited centre, and students joining our CIPD programmes in September 2021 will commence the new programmes

Earn while you learn on an apprenticeship with the College! This nationally recognised standard will provide you with the skills, experience and knowledge you need to progress in your chosen career. Your apprenticeship will include a combination of on-the-job training, studying for your qualification at College and maths, English and possibly ICT depending on the framework and any prior GCSEs.

This apprenticeship is suitable for a variety of HR roles, including HR Executive, HR Officer, Assistant HR Manager and Assistant HR Advisor. Upon completion, higher apprentices will be eligible for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Other Important Information

The Higher Apprenticeship in Human Resource Consultant/Partner incorporates a Level 5 qualification, which is the equivalent level to the second year of university and provides the apprentice with a comprehensive understanding of the HR function, alongside practical experience of working in an HR environment. You will study 6 modules such as Developing Professional Practice in HR, Business Context of HR, and Employment Law among other units.

Level 5 apprentices need to pay for their registration with CIPD and purchase course textbooks required to complete the level 5 ‘stand-alone’ qualification before being allowed to undertake the apprenticeship summative assessment.

Future Prospects

Students completing this Level 5 Apprenticeship will have gained the skills to work at a high level in HR. Future prospects include rapid career advancement in medium and large organisations performing essential HR functions and advisor roles. Students who have completed the Level 5 qualification have fed back positively on how it has helped them advance to senior management positions by equipping them with the skills necessary to succeed at a higher level.
