Course Description

This course allows students to study a broad range of topics within the business and travel and tourism industry. It will equip them with practical vocational skills such as communication, organisation and teamwork - as well as studying a variety of other subjects including presenting a business idea, contributing to an event and developing their own progression plan for the future. Students will also develop their customer service skills which is a key aspect of the business and travel sector.

The awarding body for this programme is BTEC.

You will learn through case studies, practical activities, group discussions, research and classwork exercises to support with completion of assignment based tasks. You will have the opportunity to visit businesses within the travel and tourism sector and engage with guest speakers and employers.

Future Prospects

Successful completion of this course could lead to Level 2 Business within the Travel Industry. The options of progressing onto other levels or other courses will be dependent on meeting course requirements. Your tutor will advise of your options.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 2/F or above, including English or maths. You will also be required to attend an interview and demonstrate your suitability for this programme.
