Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, individuals will be equipped with the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career as an Engineering Maintenance Technician. They may find employment in various industries, including industrial mechanical equipment, manufacturing, utilities, energy and processing. Moreover, the qualification opens doors for further education and specialisation, such as pursuing a higher apprenticeship or a degree in engineering.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must have:
Secure employment: Have an employer in place who is committed to supporting them throughout the apprenticeship.
Work hours: Be employed full-time, working a minimum of 30 hours per week, and be on the company’s PAYE scheme.
Educational qualifications: Ideally hold a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
We will also consider applicants who:
Achieved a grade no lower than grade 3/D in either maths or English, provided the other subject is at grade 4/C or above.
In these cases, apprentices will be required to complete Functional Skills qualifications in maths and/or English as part of the apprenticeship on additional days at college.
In addition, applicants must hold one of the following technical qualifications:
• Level 2 Engineering Optative Apprenticeship or a
• Level 3 T- level or Diploma in Engineering
Pre-employment checks: Successfully complete a scope of work review to ensure your job role aligns with the apprenticeship requirements, a skills scan, and initial assessments in maths and English.
