Future Prospects
Completing an HNC in Manufacturing Engineering provides a strong foundation for entering technical roles across modern manufacturing. The course develops key skills in engineering design, production engineering, quality improvement, mechanical principles and thermodynamics, enabling progression into roles such as Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Process Engineer or Quality Technician.
Graduates can also advance to an HND or degree-level study, supporting long-term career development in areas such as advanced manufacturing, automation and Industry?4.0 technologies. With ongoing demand for skilled engineers and modernised manufacturing processes, learners can expect excellent prospects and opportunities for progression into supervisory or specialist technical roles.
Entry Requirements
You will need one of the following:
> A BTEC Level 3 Diploma/ National Certificate in Engineering
> A BTEC Extended Diploma/National Diploma in Engineering
> 80 UCAS points (under the new tariff) from A-levels (including a minimum B/5 grade in maths or a science subject)
This qualification has a high level of maths content, students will need strong maths skills in order to be successful on this programme. Students may undergo an initial maths assessment before they are enrolled, please note that if students are not able to demonstrate maths competence at the required level they may not be offered a place on the course.
Mature candidates who do not meet the above criteria may still be admitted to the course subject to an interview with the programme director. The interview includes an admissions test for English and maths.
