From the stage to small-business success, Sammie’s journey shows how creativity and confidence gained at MidKent College can lead to a fulfilling and entrepreneurial career.

“I had a great time at college and have many great memories. The experiences and friendships I made there helped shape my career and gave me the confidence to explore opportunities I never imagined.”

Sammie's MidKent College journey

While studying Performing Arts at MidKent College, Sammie discovered her passion for performance and entertainment. Encouraged by a college friend, she auditioned for roles as a holiday entertainer and landed her first positions with Haven, beginning a career full of travel, performance and new experiences.

From performing seasons in Scarborough and Devon to roles abroad in Cyprus, Gran Canaria and Rhodes, Sammie honed her skills in engagement, creativity and working with families, all of which would later become the foundation of her own business.

After settling back in the UK and starting a family, Sammie continued exploring performance through adult dance classes. This inspired her to develop Boogie Tots, a parent and toddler dance class designed to help young children learn through music and movement.

Where's Sammie now?

Boogie Tots has since grown into a thriving business, working with schools, nurseries and community groups, and is now in the early stages of franchising. What began as a small idea has developed into Sammie’s main source of income and a business that’s spreading joy, one dance class at a time!

Advice for current students

“Follow what you love and be open to where opportunities take you. Every experience, even the unexpected ones, can help you grow and find your path.”
