Katriona began her journey at MidKent College in 2009, studying Level 2 Animal Care before progressing to Level 3 Animal Management.

During her time here, she gained hands-on experience, a strong foundation in animal welfare, and even travelled to South Africa with the college - experiences that sparked her passion for animals.
The skills and confidence she developed at MidKent College helped her pursue a BSc (Hons) in Animal Science and, later, launch Hen Weekend Chicken Boarding, the UK’s most famous hen hotel. Her business, featured on TV's Dragon's Dens, and supported by Kent County Council, also delivers education and therapy sessions to schools, care homes, and prisons.
