Study programmes

When you enrol as a student at MidKent College, you will be engaging in a programme that is focused on developing your technical and professional skills, knowledge and abilities.

Our study programmes are designed around you, your achievements so far and where you hope to go. They are called study programmes because they offer so much more than just a qualification – it consists of key elements which together create a package of opportunities to help you to develop into a well- prepared person ready for an apprenticeship, university or employment.

The core elements of a study programme are designed to specifically prepare you for progression to further study (at College or university), into an apprenticeship or into a paid position of employment.

At MidKent College, we will ensure your study programme is relevant to industry requirements and occupational standards across a wide range of technical and professional areas, to help prepare you for your future career.

Your study programme will have five key elements:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Main technical and professional qualification
  • Development of employability skills (including work experience)
  • Group tutorial.

In order to gain your overall qualification, you must pass all elements of your study programme.

All aspects of the study programme are important and we expect you to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to each of them by attending all of your timetabled sessions, arriving on time every time, and completing all of your assigned work.

Caroline Level 2 Beauty

We’re currently learning about manicures, facials, and we’ve just done waxing. My favourite thing so far has been learning facials – I really enjoyed doing those.
