David George Hills - a career shaped by construction and global impact 

Name: David George Hills

A distinguished career in construction: 

David George Hills, a graduate of the Medway and Maidstone College of Technology, holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building. Since completing his studies, David has built an illustrious career spanning over five decades, specializing in construction management and supervision of multi-discipline infrastructure and railway projects across the globe. 

Now 78, David remains actively involved in the industry, currently serving as the Chief Contract and Financial Manager for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project in the Philippines, a vital rail project linking Malolos to Tutuban. His career has taken him across multiple countries, including China, India, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia, where he has overseen significant railway and infrastructure developments. 

Key achievements: 

  • Global Experience: David has worked on large-scale railway projects since 1992, collaborating with international contractors and engineering firms in countries such as the Philippines, China, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. 
  • Xiangzhong Friendship Award (2013): David received this prestigious recognition from the Loudi Municipal People's Government in China for his contribution to the social and economic development of Loudi City, particularly in relation to high-speed railway construction. 

Professional recognition and ongoing commitment: 

David holds professional qualifications including membership with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), ONC in Construction, and his HND in Building. He continues to inspire and mentor future professionals in the construction sector, contributing his expertise even at the age of 77.
