I'm currently working on a brief that's based on a passion project of mine. We had a Q&A with our class to find out what our passions are, and it was kind of like a speed dating thing, which we then created a mind map of to see all of our differet passions. I'm passionate about film, and I really like the director, Sofia Coppola.

I'd really like to be in the film industry one day – I'm revolving my photography around her filmography.

When I first came here, all the classes were mixed, so we were able to do art, graphic design, and photography – a bit of everything, which was really fun. I'm not that great at drawing, but we were able to do a lot of illustrations, and that was really fun to do. We're also able to access all of the equipment here – all the cameras, film cameras, and the darkroom, which was really cool.

I chose Medway School of Arts because I went to MidKent College. My teacher Steven was great, and I loved the way he taught – he was in the film industry, so that's why I wanted to stay. All the teachers I had at MidKent College made me love photography. The teachers made me realise I had a passion for photography, and I really enjoyed learning – the tutors here are so helpful. You don't feel scared to talk to anyone; it feels like a family here. We have to come in on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8am to 5pm, but we can also come in on the Monday and Friday as well.

I would definitely recommend this course to other students, mainly because of the teachers. They encourage you to do stuff that you're passionate about. There's a lot of work-based learning, and real clients get involved, so I think that's really good as you get loads of work experience from this.

After my time at Medway School of Arts, I would love to be in the film industry – I'd love to be a director of photography and film.
