Further study
After successfully completing the HND, you can apply for an appropriate third-year top-up programme to work towards a BA Honours degree in Photography. You could also progress directly into employment, establish a freelance practice or continue your studies in a specialist area of photography or visual communication.
Entry Requirements
You must be aged 18 or over by 31 August in the year you begin the course.
You should normally have at least 112 UCAS tariff points from one of the following:
- A National Extended Diploma
- Three A Levels, including at least one in art and design or a related subject
- A Foundation Diploma in Art and Design
- An equivalent Level 3 qualification in Photography, Art and Design or another relevant subject
You should also have at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or C or above, including English and Maths.
Mature applicants aged 21 or over who do not hold these formal qualifications are still encouraged to apply. We will consider your suitability based on your portfolio, previous learning and experience, and you may be asked to complete a written task.
All applicants will attend an interview and present a portfolio of creative work. Your portfolio should demonstrate your ideas, interests, creative development and potential. It does not need to contain only finished or professionally produced photography.
