Top marks to our apprentice

James Littlejohn, a College Plumbing apprentice, has won the south east regional heat for Apprentice of the Year!

He started at College as a level 1 student and then gained employment as an apprentice at level 2 over the last two years here at MidKent College.

Together with lecturer Jerry Whiteley, James attended the competition for a regional round of the HIP! National Plumbing Apprentice of the Year on Tuesday 10 March. At this regional event James was up against 10 other colleges' students to become the winner.

The judge also stated that James scored 82 marks out of a possible 90 for his outstanding plumbing installation. This was the highest mark anyone had achieved nationally in the regional rounds!

James will now go forward to the grand final in Cheltenham on the 29-30 April.
