Public Services students raise hundreds for Help for Heroes
Public Services students have risen to the challenge of raising money for their chosen charity Help for Heroes, making a huge £1766 over the past year.
Not content with the usual ways of fundraising, MidKent College students proved once again their ability to make a difference with the range of activities they undertook.
A skydive, football matches with army comrades, bag packing, 13 hour charity walks and a doughnut eating competition were amongst the challenges that helped reach the grand total. Help for Heroes representative Tricia Darke heard about this impressive achievement, and made the journey from Wiltshire to receive the giant cheque presented by tutor Sally Howson on behalf of the students.
Whilst at the College, Tricia addressed the new students on their Welcome Day about the Help for Heroes charity. The challenge has now been set to the new students, to raise funds for the cause.
A massive congratulations and well done to everyone involved. Head over to our Facebook for pictures.
