Public Services student Harry gets called up
We are delighted to hear that one of our ex-students who left us this summer has successfully gained entry to the British Army. Harry Thetford studied Level 3 in Public Services and has always known he wanted to join the Army. Harry studied at our Maidstone Campus and particularly enjoyed being able to balance his studies alongside a part-time job and an enviable social life!
Harry said “The tutors made me feel really welcome. If I was struggling they would help and if I or my friends weren’t trying hard enough they would push you to get the best grades.” Harry always knew that an Army career was for him and he set his sights on The Royal Tank Regiment.
“I had already applied whilst I was going through College, my tutor Nathan [pictured below with Harry] helped me through that. During the summer, I attended various assessment centres. I successfully got into the regiment I hoped to join (The Royal Tank Regiment). During my basic training I will be based at Winchester then Bobbington and then I will hopefully be going to Estonia for six months. Once I’ve completed all of my initial training, I will be based in Tidworth in Wiltshire.”
We’d like to wish Harry all the best for his future career!
