Mother and daughter duo donate 21 inches of hair for charity
A mother and daughter duo have had 21 inches of their hair cut off as part of their fundraising for The Little Princess Trust.
Zoe and Jessica Dixon, from Chatham, decided to donate their hair together after becoming aware of how the charity supports children who have lost their hair through medical treatment or being unwell. In addition to the big chop, they raised over £365, which along with their hair will be used to create wigs and hair pieces for cancer sufferers.
They had their hair cut at MidKent College’s Hair and Beauty Salon Pure, with Kylie Edwards and Joanne Keene styling and colouring their new shorter bobs free of charge. Mother Zoe, 35, said “we are fortunate to be happy and healthy and wanted people to know we are thinking of them whilst they are going through such a tough time. I am very proud of my daughter - in my eyes this is a very selfless thing to do and is an inspiration to others.” Her daughter Jessica, who is 8, is loving her new hair too.
MidKent College were proud to support such important fundraising and are looking forward to seeing how the Dixon’s donated hair and money helps those who need it most.
