MidKent College remember the fallen on Remembrance Day

MidKent College students at the Maidstone and Medway campuses marked Remembrance Day today with parades, poems and readings.

Children from Burnt Oak Primary School joined the College’s Public Services students at the Medway Campus to lead College staff and students in a two-minute silence. Petals fell to the ground to represent the fallen.

ESOL and Supported and Foundation Learning students have been fundraising for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Asda and the College.

Mark Lampard, head of department for Sport & Public Services said "This is a real poignant moment for the College where we come together as one, to pay our respects to commemorate individuals that served our country.

Public Service students past and present lead the occasion exemplifying the highest standards and respect throughout. It is important we continue each year to educate young people and ensure they take this time to honour those that have fallen for our freedom."

We would like to thank all those who attended to pay their respects.
