Isabel Howe is a Product Systems Design Engineer at Cummins, Sandwich, and is a Level 6 apprentice on a manufacturing degree apprenticeship with MidKent College.

Congratulating her, Stephen Futter, Assistant Chief Engineer at Cummins, said: “Isobel has gained significant knowledge within Genset Engineering and established herself as a key member of the team. Structured rotations have exposed Isobel to all the various teams and their specialised processes. She has shown an exceptional ability to learn and develop and has taken the lead on multiple projects working in advance of her years and delivering quality results. Isobel is due to complete her BEng Hons in Manufacturing Engineering within the coming weeks and is on track to achieve a First Class Hons.”

David Girt- Apprentice trainer, Mid Kent College, said:Isobel has been a pleasure to work with on her apprenticeship. She is ahead of all targets that have been set for her and is proactive in managing her evidence towards her KSBs (Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours). Isobel has met all the challenges and is excellent at balancing her time between workplace duties, Degree study requirements and apprenticeship case studies.”

Isabel Howe said: “Within the apprenticeship scheme I am completing a level 6 manufacturing degree and apprenticeship qualification. Within my role I work with global project teams to design, validate and release new options and installations for generator sets. Projects vary in length and complexity with experience in current product support, engineer-to-order, and lean product introduction. I have been developing my knowledge on each project and consistently supported to become a well-rounded and experienced engineer.”
