Apprenticeships at West Kent Housing
MidKent College has teamed up with West Kent Housing Association to help train more than 20 new apprentices.
Young people interested in applying for a role at one of the South East’s leading provider of affordable homes are invited to attend an awareness day at its office in London Road, Sevenoaks on Thursday, 7 August.
MidKent College has been contracted to deliver an apprenticeship programme covering such diverse areas of the business as customer service, cleaning, caretaking, community safety and business administration.
“We are delighted to have been selected by West Kent Housing Association to help train the young people who will hopefully go on to achieve great things with the organisation,” said Becky Farley, recruitment co-ordinator at the college’s JobShop.
“MidKent College has a proud record of delivering first-rate training to apprentices throughout the county and we look forward to continuing that trend with West Kent by our side.”
Young people interested in attending the awareness day must be aged 16 or over and have finished full-time education by 1 September 2014.
The event will be held from 9.45am-2pm and a buffet lunch will also be provided.
Clare Firth, learning and development partner at West Kent, said: “Providing opportunities to communities in which we have homes has always been a priority for us.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of interested young people to our awareness day and having the chance to tell them about those opportunities.
“It’s a great chance for anyone leaving school in September this year or for others who are struggling to find their career path to get experience and build their skills.”
