ACE students shine at Best in Kent competition

Learners from College have won 4 out of 6 titles at this year’s ‘Best in Kent’ construction competition, held at West Kent College.

Five Colleges attended the competition across Kent; Ashford, West Kent, North Kent, Canterbury.

Bricklaying, site carpentry, paining and decorating, bench joinery, plastering and multi trades were the six different disciplines in which students had to demonstrate their skills, through creating and finishing pieces that reflected their knowledge and accuracy.

Doug Warren,  Curriculum Manager for Advanced Construction and Engineering at MidKent, said “it was a superb opportunity for the learners to showcase the skillset they have gained whilst studying at MidKent College. There is no doubt these learners will progress on to become accomplished tradespeople. The staff and I were extremely proud of their achievements.”

The list of winners can be found below, and they went home with a tool kit, certificate of achievement and winners trophy.
