Apprentice of the Month - Nikki O'Grady - Apprenticeships
Congratulations to Nikki on being our March Apprentice of the Month.
Christina, Nikki’s Training Officer, had this to say:
Nikki has shown since the beginning of her Painting & Decorating apprenticeship a great level of commitment and interest in the trade and the coursework. The standard of her work is exemplary. She has applied great efforts to create flawlessly written accounts demonstrating either research work or work carried out on-site on her own initiative. She is always positive with good communication skills and very pleasant to work with. Since being furloughed she still maintains an exceptional level of enthusiasm for research and course work.
Hear what Nikki’s employer felt about the news:
Nikki’s done incredibly well right from her first day, from having to learn the basics of decorating to all the health and safety that comes with working on a construction site. She has very quickly fitted in with the other decorators due to her hard work and eagerness to learn; she has become a great addition to the decorating team.
Nikki was also really happy to be recognised for this award:
I am grateful to have been recognised as the apprentice of the month. It is great to know that hard work and effort are appreciated and helps spur me on to be better and hopefully continue with the same momentum during the remainder of my apprenticeship and beyond.
Working for Baxall Construction, I've been introduced to some fantastic people and novel experiences. Construction work is very challenging but the senior decorators have welcomed me with open arms and patiently shown me the trade. I learn new things every day, see new places and enjoy myself even when I'm covered in mud, paint, and sanding dust!
The best part of working for Baxall Construction is a sense of pride. I get a lot of help and guidance but also the ability to apply what I have learned in real projects. It is very rewarding to be able to look at something that has been totally transformed and proudly say "I did that".
A huge well done to Nikki for being recognised.
