Apprentice of the month - Imogen Jacobs - Apprenticeships

Imogen is currently close to completing her Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship, and we're delighted to reward her hard by work by selecting her as our Apprentice of the Month for May!

Steve Elks, Imogen's Training Officer had this to say:

"Imogen is currently employed by TrAC but hosted out to BAM as her employer. Her apprenticeship has had one or two bumps along the way due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She was put on furlough for almost six months back in 2020 as the first lockdown started. This meant that she lost her first position at BAM based on a construction site in Sittingbourne as a Document Controller. However she was taken back on again at BAM in October 2020 at a new site in Dartford, as they had heard good feedback from her time on the site in Sittingbourne, and she was offered the role of Junior Site Manager.

Throughout her time on the apprenticeship, Imogen has always been keen to complete any work that she needs to do, has never missed an appointment and is a very professional and focused young lady. Despite the challenges with Covid-19, she is on track to complete her apprenticeship in a timely manner and in September is progressing onto the BAM degree programme. Her work is of excellent quality and I am sure she will not only be a success on the degree course, but also have a great career in the construction industry.

This nomination is fully deserved, well done Imogen."

Imogen's employer, James Gray at BAM Construction said, "Imogen has certainly excelled since starting with the Stone Lodge Team last year. Imogen manages her time effectively and is able to put her College learning into practice at site level - I have made her responsible for £3m worth of work. Imogen is an asset to the team and I look forward to working with her over the coming years."

Imogen was really happy to be nominated and commented:

"I feel grateful as it’s a nice compliment to be recognised for the work that goes into my apprenticeship.

Working for BAM is an incredible opportunity to learn, progress and develop everyday. It is a busy, fast paced environment but rewarding at the same time.

For me, the best part about working for BAM is that no two days are the same. There is always more to learn and my colleagues are always willing to help when I need them."

Congratulations and good luck for the future Imogen!
