MidKent College offers an exciting range of practical technical and professional courses and workshops for school pupils aged 14-19.
We believe in giving our students the best possible start to their time at College.
Often the work to prepare young people for transition can start years before they turn 16. That's why we're committed to working closely with our local schools in Maidstone and Medway, and have a dedicated School Partnerships team to give schools simple, hassle-free access to opportunities to engage with the College.
Our professional, well-qualified tutors are trained in a number of technical areas including Hair, Beauty, Construction, Motor Vehicle and Hospitality & Catering. We offer tasters and short courses in technical and professional subjects to pupils who may benefit from studying in a college environment., and infill for pupils who will benefit from spending more time at the College developing technical and professional skills.
Tailored visits and information sessions are run throughout the year giving school pupils the opportunity to find out more about the College, see our industry standard workshops and meet College staff. Visits can be tailored to school requirements and may include talks from careers advisers and personal development tutors as well as visits to a variety of workshops.
We will also arrange small group visits and tasters for Elective Home Educated, and for vulnerable groups including Children who are Looked After, LLDD learners and, Gypsy Roma Travellers, and those at risk of exclusion.
In addition to the support provided for students progressing into Further Education, we also offer targetted support to schools with pupils in years 12 and 13 who want to study Higher Education locally. Please click here for further information.
