I chose this course because I like to care for people and in the future I would like to work in the healthcare industry.
I started with the Level 1 Functional Skills English and Maths and then moved on the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing for Further Study in Health & Social Care and GCSE English and Maths. I am now in my third year studying for the Level 3.
At the moment we are learning about nutrition, food, the cells, which foods our bodies need and how the body works. This will really help me in my future career, but it also helps me at home with my own children! I like everything about the course, the tutors are really good – they explain well and I can ask them any questions. I am not from England – I am a French native, so when I don’t understand anything I can easily ask them anything.
I chose MidKent College because it is local to me, and not far away from where I live. I find the timetable good as I have children. I have just started my work experience in a care home which gives me a lot of background information and practice in the industry. I have applied to do Adult Nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University and have also thought about opening my own care home in the future.
