I chose the Level 3 in Applied Science because I’d like to work in the science industry. The job I have in mind is in forensic anthropology. I like the fact that you can look at old bones and see how someone has lived their life and what they’ve done previously. I find it really interesting and I’ve done a lot of research into it.

Chemistry was my favourite subject at school. At the moment at College we are looking at atoms, cells and cell membranes. In physics we are learning about waves. We have three classes a week (biology, physics and chemistry), a personal development lesson plus a stretch and challenge lesson. For stretch and challenge you can choose your own assignment on any science based study that you’d like to follow up. I am doing mine in oncology as I didn’t know much about it and I thought it was a good time to research and learn more about it.

My parents were supportive of me coming to College as the courses I wanted to do at sixth form didn’t fit in with what I wanted to do at university.

I’m doing my industry placement at Specsavers looking at the back of people’s eyes which is quite fun!

I would definitely recommend people to come to College. All the staff are really supportive and if you don’t understand something they will sit down with you to help you understand and make it clear.

All the others on the programme are nice which is good, especially as I didn’t know anyone in the area.
